Who We Are

John Henry Oil Corporation is a privately held U.S. company. We are a fourth-generation, family-owned business. We take a personal hand in providing the oversight to our daily operations. Drawing from over 100 years of experience and dedication, John Henry Oil Corporation is well established in the oil and gas industry. In 1998, we were formally incorporated into the company we are today.

Third Generation

Connie M. Love, Owner & CEO

In 2011, Connie Love became the sole owner of John Henry Oil. She represents the best of three generations of hard work and determination in the oil business. She was born and raised in South Central Kentucky and grew up in the Appalachian oilfields working for her father, John Henry Love, Jr. Connie studied economics at Tulane University and liberal arts at Smith College. Connie directs all corporate and financial aspects of John Henry Oil, but her passion is “the rocks,” and she is typically in the field and heavily involved in operations. With more than 30 years of direct field, operations and oil and gas management experience, Connie learned the business “from the mud up.” Connie and her team intend to utilize their localized field knowledge and key area relationships to significantly enhance the Company’s success and build significant long-term growth.

Connie is described by those that work for her as “an extremely intelligent, caring, and driven individual”. She is competent and intimately knowledgeable of all aspects of the oil field. She fondly refers to her rig operators and roughnecks in the field as her “fellas” and constantly challenges them to work to their full potential. This hands-on and focused involvement has allowed Connie to know her “fellas” and they have become more like family instead of just workers. This mutual respect has created an unprecedented team of highly skilled people dedicated to drilling and developing the untapped potential of the Tennessee oil fields.

Fourth Generation

Dwight Jessie, Field Geologist/Rig Operator Apprentice

A core philosophy at John Henry Oil is there is no better teacher or substitute than hard work. Each generation of the Love family has learned the oil business “from the mud up”. Dwight Jessie, the fourth generation of the Love family to enter the oil fields of Kentucky and Tennessee, is no different. He has been in and around the oil field from the age of eight. Dwight goes forward in the business with a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Denison University and a unique oilfield intuition inherited from his “wildcatter” great grandfather John Henry Love, Sr. Dwight’s decision to be an independent American oil producer will ensure the long-term growth potential of the company and the future commitment to the ideals and operational philosophies established by Connie Love.
